My eight old niece loves these books and is helping her to read. Well written. My favorite comic. The best part is the author side comment helps understand what goes into writing a comic.
And this Treasury is particularly good because of the authors notes along with the cartoons. If you have an appreciation for Gary Larson and Bill Watterson, you will LOVE the Pearls Before Swine books.
Then I buy the collections. Does that make any sense. I am a huge Pearls Before Swine fan. Then I buy the Treasury. Of course not, but Pearls Before Swine makes me laugh, and so for me, the purchase price is well worth it. I must be. I read the comics.
I'd highly suggest you love it though. Depends on your sense of humor, either you'll love it or you won't. =P So funny. Can't really write a review for others.
Pastis provides commentary for many of the strips. This book provides two sources of humor. A wonderful insight. Pearls Before Swine is the best comic today. Stephan Pastis is a genius, and I imagine a lot like Rat.
